Hey guys! I didn’t really want to do another book tag since I did one on Tuesday, but I haven’t finished any books this week lol. I’m currently reading Prairie Fires by Caroline Fraser for the second time, and while I am absolutely loving it, there is a lot of information in it so it’s taking longer to read. So hopefully that review will be up next week!!
Today I’m going to do the Gilmore Girls Book Tag. GG is one of my favorite shows ever, so when I saw this, I was so excited! I found it at The Lexington Bookie. It’s a little old lol but it’s Gilmore Girls!! A classic.
Lorelai: A character with a witty or sarcastic sense of humor
I think I’ll go with Sam from The Diviners series by Libba Bray. This series is so fun and interesting and I absolutely love it! Sam is definitely the witty/sarcastic character in this book, although Evie has her moments as well. I can’t wait for the fourth book!!
Rory: Favorite classic
Definitely Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen!! I think this is my favorite book of all time. I love Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy! (The 2005 movie is literally everything)
Luke: A book you secretly love but are afraid to admit
Probably 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne. I’ve seen so many people hate this book, so I was expecting to hate it, too, but I really enjoyed it! It wasn’t as good as The Hating Game by her, but I still really liked it. I don’t know what happened there lol.
Lane: A musical character
Mia and Adam from If I Stay by Gayle Forman are both musical. Mia plays the cello and Adam is in a band. This was such a good story, I read it in one day.
Dean: Your first book love (character or book you first loved)
Junie B. Jones by Barbara Park! I remember reading all of the books as a kid and loving them! I think because I was the same age as Junie B when I read them that I really connected with her and the whole series
The Ramona Quimby books by Beverly Cleary are a close runner up though! I have read them so many times.
Sookie: A book you’ve devoured
The most recent one was the graphic novel The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang. It was my first graphic novel, so I was a little apprehensive, but I loved it!! The story was great and the illustrations were gorgeous!
Jess: A book you love, that gets the most hate
An obvious choice is Twilight by Marissa Meyer. I just recently reread the whole series last Fall, and I still loved it! I know it gets a lot of hate, but I think it really started the whole YA movement. I have always loved reading, but I think this was the first time I was like hey, this reading thing is fun. #TeamEdward
Miss Patty: A book that was ruined by the hype
I’m not sure if this would apply, but maybe Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak? I don’t know if that was necessarily ruined by the hype, but I can’t think of anything else. I saw a lot of people, myself included, excited for this, but it wasn’t good lol. I was very confused. I think I only got maybe 50 pages in. I was so excited for it, too. I absolutely loved The Book Thief, so this was a huge disappointment.
Emily Gilmore: An expensive book
Pioneer Girl: The Annotated Autobiography by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I think it’s about $30! It’s massive, though. It looks like a textbook. I loved it so much. I love everything Little House on the Prairie, so I had to have it lol.
Paris: An uptight character
This one is hard! Maybe Charlotte Holmes from A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro? She is very particular with the way she handles things. I’m not sure though, LOL. Maybe Tessa from After by Anna Todd as well.
There we go! Have you read any of these books? Or seen Gilmore Girls? I’ve seen the entire show lol. It’s one of my all time favorites. If you have, who are your favorite characters, besides Lorelai and Rory? Let me know! A few of mine are Luke, Lane, Sookie, Paris, and Kirk! Lol. Miss Patty and Babette are great too!
